Guarach

After yesterdays SO-SO artwork, I have tried to do better today. Though I did put myself in a sticky situation, because I still had to do my Christmas shopping, so that took quite a chunk out of my day. Don't blame me. Jesus was a capitalist. I did my best. Here's Guarach.

It was a riff on an earlier Zvery, which was a bubblegum spider with candy-cane legs. I wanted to turn it into void-bubblegum however. And I made it evil, instead of cute. These legs aren't candy cane, they are retractable for when Guarach drills its nest to catch prey with its bubblegum net. Or something like that. I give the lore far too little attention, I admit. But I have found that I procrastinate when I want to come up with lore. This is a better way for now, I think. Mostly, because this part of the process is just building up ability to realize what I imagine, which is still tough for me at this stage.

Btw, again it feels like, by simply adding a mouth and an expression, the design was elevated to something worthwhile. Perhaps it's my imagination. Let me know what you think, but it seems humans really cling onto any kind of anthropomorphic feature to give something personality. Yes, I do generalize from my subjective experience onto the broader population.

Thanks for reading, I will be back tomorrow! And that's a challenge to myself because I am heading home tomorrow and that has never been a productive place for me.
